Born in Paris from a Swiss cabinet maker and a French artist, Florence went onto
studying Horticulture in Lille (F) and Landscape Architecture in Geneva (CH).
Florence has worked in Switzerland, England and France before immigrating to
Melbourne in 1987 with her Australian husband. After 5 years as a Senior
Landscape Architect at the then Ministry of Housing, she became a partner with
Paul Laycock and Florence jaquet, Landscape Architects until 2008. She lectured
for 2 years at Burnley Horticultural College , teaching “Contract Administration”, a
complex aspect of Landscape Architecture practice. Upon Paul’s retirement, she
continued practicing under the new “FjLA” banner. She is also an exhibiting
botanical artist, mother and owner of the office dog; “sophie the Briard”.”Florence

response to client’s requirements.
